Abstract
A reply to the preceding paper by Munro-Hay. Hahn first asks why king Endybis took the Roman aureus as his model yet struck only half pieces. He weighs three explanations: actual Roman models at hand, a deliberate deference to the precedence of Rome, and, to his mind the most likely, an economic one, namely the intention to supplement rather than displace the aureus in the India trade.
