SPECIAL MEDALS
Strikings for special occasions
Alongside the society medals, individual strikings are created for special occasions. In 2007, for instance, the society honoured the numismatist Dr. Hans Roland Baldus on his 65th birthday with a medal by the sculptor Peter-Götz Güttler.
The obverse shows the portrait of the honouree, the reverse coins of Uranius Antoninus, a motif from his field of research. Material white metal, 102 mm diameter.
