Abstract
A second supplement to the corpus of the coinage of the usurper Uranius Antoninus, who struck at Emesa in AD 253. The most important addition is a gold piece of 5.90 g with a hitherto unknown reverse die reading SPES VICTRIX, a combination of the themes Spes and Victoria unique in Roman numismatics. Since victory is still only hoped for, the die confirms that gold group I precedes the Emesene success against a Persian army, which matters for dating the invasion of Shapur I. Further specimens enlarge known die links.
