Abstract
The first instalment of a material corpus of the Bavarian coinage of the tenth and eleventh centuries, devoted to the Regensburg issues of 948 to 967. The author shows that the type of Duke Henry I must not be confined to his eight-year reign but was retained until the end of the regency for Henry II. This redating has consequences for the beginning of Bohemian coinage and for the place of the Liudolf revolt of 953/955 and the Hungarian raids of 955, whose war issues now fall in the first third of the emission.
