Abstract

The Celtic coins from the Augustan military site of Augsburg-Oberhausen were last identified by Konrad Kraft and had always been overshadowed by the extensive Roman series. Prepared for a catalogue of the Celtic coinage of southern Bavaria, they are presented again here: a base-metal rainbow cup, a bronze of the Germanus Indutilli type and one of the so-called Aduatuca type. The author dates the bronzes to the Augustan period and uses parallel finds from Haltern, Oberaden, Vindonissa and Basel to delimit the end of their circulation.
