Abstract
Among the most valuable finds from Krefeld-Gellep is an aureus of Postumus weighing 6.44 g, recovered in 1975, whose reverse die was previously unknown within this emperor's coinage. It came from a spoil heap created during the extension of the Krefeld Rhine harbour, which places it in the area of the auxiliary fort of Gelduba and, more precisely, of its harbour, located in 1975 at a depth of nine metres. The paper describes the piece and sets it among the many thousands of coin finds from this area, whose recording promises insight into the history of the fort.
