Abstract

In early 1974 an allegedly closed find of Norican small silver from Celje in Slovenia was submitted to the Munich State Coin Collection: 78 small silver coins of various types together with one Greek coin, all in private hands. The paper classifies the group according to the typologies of Bannert, Göbl and the author into the Eis and Magdalensberg types, the Karlstein group and eastern Norican pieces, and records the weights. Because the group is typologically heterogeneous, the author considers an origin in the river Savinja more likely than a hoard.
