Abstract
The tenth instalment of a series on the mints of Asia Minor, here on Parlais. The site of the city was long disputed: coin catalogues and handbooks placed it in Lycaonia and it was sought near Lake Beysehir, while the ancient sources already disagree, Ptolemy naming Lycaonia and the Notitiae Episcopatuum Pisidia. In 1938 Louis Robert argued the case for identifying it with Barla on Lake Egirdir, supported by an inscription found there about a contest for boys, which shows the place to have been a Roman colony. Final proof came with a journey of 1947: two inscriptions, two coins of Parlais and a boundary stone dividing the territories of Parlais and Prostanna.
