Abstract
In 1966 Eugen Wankmüller acquired a small hoard of 56 Norican small silver coins whose origin at Celje in Slovenia may be taken as reliable; the circumstances of discovery and the manner of deposition remained unclear despite enquiry. That the group is a dealer's assemblage of single finds can be ruled out with high probability because of its typological and metrological uniformity; whether the find is complete or only part of one remains open. Thirty-nine pieces belong to the Magdalensberg type, the remaining seventeen to the Karlstein group. A second lot acquired in 1968, without any find data at all, is made known alongside it.
