Abstract
The site of the Roman colony of Komama in Pisidia, by the Serefönü spring between the villages of Ürkütlü and Garipce, is secured by inscriptions; unlike its heavily fortified neighbours Kremna and Olbasa, Komama was unfortified and lay on no more than a low rise. Its full name was Colonia Julia Augusta prima fida Comama. Barbara Levick had assumed that prima fida occurs only on coins of Julia Domna, Caracalla and Severus Alexander, and concluded that the additional title was granted to the city during a visit by Caracalla in 215. The author refutes this: a coin of Septimius Severus already carries I F, and prima fida appears only ever together with IVL, because the long name fits only the large denominations.
