Abstract
Description of a hoard or the pari of a hoard of small tournois, pennies of the Champagne, further pennies of Trier and Metz, which is said to come from Forbach/Lorraine. Its burial can be dated to 1250-1260. Its contents resembles that of the big hoard from Malling (Mosel). As well as the contemporary written sources it reflects the monetary circulation of this time: The currency of Upper Lorraine is still intact, the penny of Trier is dominating in this region. French coins: those of the fairs of Champagne, further tournois pennies are already mentioned in payments. Three decades later they will prevail in the currency of Upper Lorraine and too in the Cologne basin. Buchbesprechungen NUMISMATICS — WITNESS TO HISTORY / LA NUMISMATIQUE — TEMOIN DE L'HISTOIRE.
