The twelfth instalment of the literature surveys which, according to the editors' preface, are meant above all as a tool: to ease access for historians and archaeologists to the widely scattered numismatic work and so to encourage cooperation between numismatics and its neighbouring disciplines. This part covers the literature on the coinage of central Greece, that is Locris, Phocis and Boeotia, with a list of abbreviations, a bibliographic arrangement and references to find reports. Since 1954 the series has already covered Sicily, Epirus, Macedonia, the Peloponnese, Euboea, Mysia with the Troad, Aeolis and Lesbos, Spain, the cistophori, Ionia, Moesia and Thrace.
