Abstract
The reckoning of the Vandalic copper coins in terms of 42, 21. 12 and 4 nummi is examined in its relation to the denarius values of the silver coins and explained by a combination of the light Italian nummi with the heavy weight standard of the Eastern copper coins after A. D. 512. The contemporary royal minims should have served as 2 nummi pieces by which the value of older protovandalic half-centenionales could be reduced. (Author)
