Abstract
Marginal notes on the oldest Bohemian ducal coins. The author had dated the beginning of Bohemian striking to 973/74, on the strength of the links between duke Boleslav II and the Bavarian duke Henry II and of the relevant finds. The dating turns on two questions: when Boleslav II came to power, and the identity of his wife or wives. For the first the year 967 persists stubbornly, taken from Cosmas of Prague, whose dates for the tenth century are often out by five to seven years.
