Abstract
The first part of a corpus of the coins struck at Attaleia in Pamphylia, with history, chronology and catalogue from the Hellenistic period to Commodus. The material comes from twenty-three museums inside and outside Turkey, a private collection in Istanbul and a coin dealer; fifteen further museums reported holding no coins of Attaleia. Since only copper was struck at Attaleia, the metal is not stated, and because the plates are at original size, neither is the diameter. Every die receives its own catalogue number, which is why catalogues without illustrations proved useless.
