Abstract

By a recently developed method it is possible to reconstruct the designs of even very small or very flatly struck coins. Especially with coins showing legends only, this method has its advantage, since a most exact reproduction of the letters is wanted and those irritations can be avoided, that result from the flowing light and shadow of photography. Further this method allows the reconstruction of dies and by this the improved work on die linkage. It too will help in the installation of an illustrated typology
