Abstract

The helmet, decorated by the horn of an ibex an coins of Antiochus VI and Tryphon may have had its origins in Cretan or Aegean helmets. This special headwear may have been the emblem of those Cretan or Aegean mercenaries, who first had fought for Demetrius II and then deserted to Antiochus VI and Tryphon
