Abstract

The restriking of Bavarian „Geschichtstaler" pieces of Ludwig I is documented by the files, but too can be proven by the numismatic evidence. Pieces with rather sparse hair in the neck and a small die break in the earlobe of the king's head are restruck in the time around 1840/41, those with rather abundant hair in the neck originate from the forties or fifties of the century
