Abstract

This study is concerned with one special remark in the pseudoplatonic Eryxias that is mentioning a certain Carthaginian leather money. The author concludes that in Carthage there must have existed a deposit bank and that therefore these leather pieces must have been some kind of credit bill or promissory note
