Abstract

A report on the finds submitted to, or made known to, the coin cabinet of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg during the period covered. At Bergnershof in the spring of 1960 about one hundred and eighty coins came to light in a clay pot during the demolition of a house wall, among them Etsch kreuzer of Meinhard of Tyrol, Bavarian pfennigs of the fourteenth century, pfennigs of Rupprecht I and II from the mint of Amberg and a pfennig of New Bohemia from Lauf. At Hohenstadt, shortly before Christmas 1959, 351 coins were found at spade depth scattered over about one and a half square metres, all pfennigs and a few hellers apart from three half schillings; the latest piece is a Nuremberg half schilling of 1465/67. A description of the finds by issuing authority follows.
