Abstract

The Bavarian coin finds of the Middle Ages and the early modern period were recorded for the years 1944 to 1959 in the find chronicle of the Bayerische Vorgeschichtsblätter. Since it seemed more appropriate to publish them separately in a numismatic journal, a survey for the years 1960 to 1962 with addenda follows here for the first time; the ancient coin finds remain in the prehistory chronicle. In future the intention is to report in this journal continuously, treating important complete finds more fully and illustrating notable single pieces. All the finds were worked on at the Munich State Coin Collection and follow in alphabetical order, from a small clay pot with Netherlandish ecus to a tin box holding 1213 coins and closing in 1704.
