Abstract

Publication of three Christiana-Religio-Pfennigs, struck in the narre of the emperor Ludwig (the Pious, 814-840) and different by the ductus of the letters and low weight. The weight as well as the stylistic dissolution of the type may be the evidence of the immobilized continuation of striking after this emperor's death. The findsite and the comparison with the so called „Sachsenpfennigs" suggest an origin in the Duchy of Saxony.
