Abstract

Presented is the 1/24th gold stater, one of the oldest cointypes of South Germany from about the 2nd half of the 3d century B.C. In their metrology they are dose to the coinage of the Boii, although their types — ianiform head, monster with human head and horse's body, triple head and strongly stylized head — are thoroughly unique.
