Abstract

Author explains several representations on lst century B.C. coins. Brutus as well as Cassius claimed Apollo as their god and as a symbol of liberty and the fight against tyranny. Both show Apollo and Liberty as the message for their victorious struggle to reinstate the libera res publica and the reintroduction of liberty to the city of Rome
