MONTHLY LECTURE
Prices, value and denomination indications from Roman North Africa
Prof. Dr. Peter Rothenhöfer, Sun Yat-Sen University
The reforms under Emperor Diocletian, from the tetrarchy through the reorganisation of the provinces to the currency reforms, shaped the late Roman Empire. Newly studied everyday documents from Roman North Africa, from the provincia Byzacena, give deep insights into the lives of the people and thus also into the monetary economy of this period.
