Minting places of Themistocles in Asia Minor

The lecture dealt with the coinages of Themistocles in several cities of Asia Minor that had been granted to him by the Persian Great King Artaxerxes. Besides the well-known mint of Magnesia, the speaker presented evidence for his signature on coins of Lampsacus, Scepsis, Myus and Miletus. Finally, the talk turned to issues documenting a posthumous veneration of Themistocles in the late 5th and early 4th centuries BC.
