Metal analyses of Roman copper-alloy compositions from numismatics and archaeology

Using X-ray fluorescence analysis, Roman alloys such as brass, copper and bronzes from coins and archaeological objects were examined. The results show that the Romans deliberately used functional copper-alloy compositions that reflect very high metallurgical knowledge.
