September 2022
In September 2022 the Bavarian Numismatic Society carried out extensive metallurgical investigations at the Staatliche Münzsammlung, among other things on ancient electrum coins and Bavarian river-gold ducats. The analyses determined the proportions of gold, silver, copper and trace elements and provided important insights into the dating, purity and origin of the coins.
