Hercules Farnese: portraits and coins

The ancient statue of the Hercules Farnese was extraordinarily popular in the Roman imperial period and was copied more than ninety times. This popularity is reflected in the coinage: more than seventy cities struck the motif on their coins. The lecture traced the spread of this image motif across the empire.
