Greek coinages in exile

The lecture dealt with coinages of citizens of Greek city-states that were produced outside their homeland as a result of political conflict or expulsion. Using historical examples such as the coinage of the tyrant Hippias, both attested and disputed cases were examined. The lecture highlighted the methodological challenges in identifying such coinages struck in exile.
