General Assembly 2024 and lecture: Frederick I Barbarossa and coins

Under Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa, monetary and financial history experienced a significant upturn. The economy became increasingly monetised and coins came into everyday use. Through a coordinated coinage policy Barbarossa gave important impulses and introduced a new depiction of the ruler that expressed the dignity of his office everywhere. The lecture by Stefan Kötz took place following the General Assembly 2024.
