Buildings and monuments of the city of Rome on coins of Domitian as ruler praise

The lecture dealt with four rare sestertii from the coinage of Domitian that depict buildings and monuments of Rome. The same structures are also described by the poets Martial and Statius. The moneyers used these architectural motifs as a means of praising the ruler, glorifying the emperor as a military victor and a Jupiter-like ruler.
